About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience: 5 Years - Charting System Experience: Required (Meditech) Description: Nurse to perform the role of the labor and delivery nurse along with postpartum care and triage. Required to assist with high-risk deliveries and perform postpartum care. Must have the ability to conduct triage assessments for obstetrical patients. Experience in administering medications and IV therapy is essential. Provide breastfeeding support and lactation education to new parents. Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections. Perform fetal monitoring and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Conduct discharge teaching for new parents. Participate in team-based patient care with interdisciplinary support. Adhere to facility protocols and guidelines related to labor and delivery. Must be proficient in evaluating and managing complications during labor and delivery. Experience with patient education and support for new mothers is a plus. Knowledge of baby-friendly protocols is advantageous.
