Acting Preschool Instructional Aide-7.5 hours, Morse

Job Summary Acting Preschool Instructional Aide – 7.5 hours per week at Morse School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Position type: Full‑time. Responsibilities Assist the classroom teacher in implementing a curriculum based on children’s developmental needs. Plan and teach small and large groups. Assist in developing units of study with the teacher. Keep track of student progress through assessment and record‑keeping systems. Prepare materials and perform other tasks requested by the teacher. Assist in maintaining a safe and effective learning environment, addressing behaviors that interfere with learning. Carry out any other tasks directed by the teacher, principal, or assistant principal. Assist with student toileting as required. Qualifications Associate’s degree or 48 college credits (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Preferred coursework in education of elementary‑grade children. Previous successful experience working with children in an urban, multicultural setting. Demonstrated ability to respect diversity and help children develop a positive self‑image as successful learners. Language skills in Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Haitian Creole, Chinese, or Spanish are a plus. Job Requirements Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
