Facilities Service Technician

Build, Maintain, and Keep Critical Systems Running

We're seeking an experienced Facilities Service Technician / Building Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial building systems.

In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for ensuring HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably across multiple client sites.

What You'll Do:

• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility mechanical and electrical systems
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair: HVAC/R equipment, commercial refrigeration systems, electrical distribution systems, plumbing systems, general building infrastructure (interior and exterior)
• Conduct facility inspections and identify issues that may impact operations or occupancy
• Learn and apply equipment-specific procedures and maintenance best practices
• Update work orders and service records in real time using CMMS platforms such as Corrigo
• Submit P-card receipts and required documentation daily
• Provide on-call support as needed and assist with additional maintenance projects

Required Qualifications:

• Universal EPA/CFC Certification
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on building engineering or facilities maintenance experience
• Strong troubleshooting and repair experience in: HVAC/R systems, commercial refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing systems, production equipment
• Experience maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration equipment
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using CMMS/work order management systems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Trade school certification or documented apprenticeship in: HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical systems
• High School Diploma or GED

Work Environment:

• Remote field-based position
• Travel daily in a company vehicle to client locations
• Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation required
• Service territory includes approximately 100-150 sites, ensuring reliable operation of critical facility systems

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
