Key Account Director, Diagnostics and Research

Responsibilities Develop and drive global account strategy in coordination with scientific and business operations teams; meet and exceed revenue goals for Tempus Dx and CRO product lines at the account while delivering on established strategic objectives for specific client accounts; build and maintain executive and R&D relationships & drive CXO strategy leveraging Tempus senior leadership; become an expert in partner’s strategy, pipeline and portfolio to proactively determine all areas that the Tempus platform could be leveraged for advancing innovation; negotiate, secure and manage pull-through of contracts with assigned client accounts; align cross‑functional team of Product Specialists, partner Key Account Directors (KADs), Translational Researchers and Commercial Operations to efficiently identify and deliver value at clients; partner with clients to develop and announce impactful case studies leveraging the Tempus Dx and CRO platforms to advance precision medicine; contribute to the development of the Life Sciences portfolio by providing feedback to Leadership; track progress against defined strategic objectives and revenue goals, reviewing progress/setbacks frequently with broader Account Team and Tempus Leadership; travel approximately 30% of working time, domestically and internationally; other duties as assigned. Qualifications Entrepreneurial sales approach; thrives in a high‑growth, rapidly evolving business environment. Deep relationships with pharmaceutical stakeholders; proven ability to navigate multi‑faceted client organizations with repeated success. Ability to influence without authority, both internal and external. Learning agility to adapt to rapid change within Tempus. Exceptional account management, articulation of issues, and navigation of a wide range of stakeholders. Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Development and Sales within the Life Sciences sector as primary account manager. 5+ years experience with organizations supporting Life Sciences companies in R&D and/or diagnostic solutions used in clinical trials selection. Strong knowledge of drug and diagnostic regulatory approval processes in the U.S. and internationally. Deep understanding of clinical trial design, execution, timelines; building trust, acting as strategic advisor; negotiating and closing large, complex, multi‑year agreements. Bachelor degree in Science or Business; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, Healthcare certification) desired. Compensation and Benefits Remote: salary range $150,000–$200,000 (California); may vary for other locations. Full range of benefits including incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits.
