Process EngineerLHH is seeking a Process Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a precision machining client located in Indianapolis, IN. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization that specializes in highly engineered, custom-built products and operates in a low-volume, high-mix environment. In this role, you will serve as the process expert responsible for developing production strategies, selecting manufacturing methods, and partnering with engineering and operations teams to ensure complex components are produced efficiently, accurately, and profitably. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $110,000-140,000 per year plus quarterly bonuses and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match. ***Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.*** JOB RESPONSIBILITIESReview engineering drawings, models, and specifications to determine manufacturing methodsDevelop efficient manufacturing routings for custom and prototype componentsDefine machining sequences and production workflows for complex partsSelect appropriate materials, tooling, and equipment for production requirementsEstimate setup times, cycle times, and overall manufacturing labor requirementsCollaborate with CNC programmers to optimize machining strategiesPartner with project teams to support successful execution of customer projectsCreate and maintain manufacturing process documentation and work instructionsEvaluate historical production data to improve estimating accuracySupport resolution of production scheduling and manufacturing challengesAssist with tooling recommendations and procurement activities as neededServe as a technical liaison between engineering and manufacturing teamsPromote manufacturing best practices and process consistency across operationsSupport prototype, developmental, and one-off product manufacturing activitiesContribute to continuous operational improvement and manufacturing excellence initiativesQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferredMinimum of 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or process engineering experience within a manufacturing facility is requiredMust have 3+ years of experience specifically with CNC machining operations (i.e. CNC milling, turning, and EDM processes)Must have experience determining manufacturing processes from engineering drawings and CAD models, routing development, and process planningIdeal candidates will have experience supporting low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environmentsIdeal candidates will have experience selecting materials, tooling, and manufacturing equipmentExperience working with prototype, developmental, or custom-engineered products is preferredHighly detail-oriented, organized, and process-driven mindset required***Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.***
