Responsibilities The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to direct and deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on an assigned unit in a safe and proficient manner according to individual patient needs. Provides direct patient care based upon South Austin Medical Center Hospital Standards of Care and Standards of Practice, Policies, Procedures and Practice Guidelines. Provides guidance and supervision to Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Nursing Technicians, Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries. He/she acts as patient advocate within the hospital environment. Assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities and accepts assignments on other units when necessary. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date RN Registered Nurse must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date Associate Degree No Travel Required 2 years experience required Benefits St. David's South Austin Medical Center offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
