Procurement Specialist

Job Summary Raven Defense Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to support procurement operations. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and services necessary for business operations, as well as raw and semi-finished materials for manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of supply chain processes, and the ability to make strategic purchasing decisions that support cost efficiency and operational success. Key Responsibilities Prepare purchase orders, solicit bids, and review requisitions Source and procure high-quality materials at competitive pricing Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and service Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and suppliers Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract compliance Track shipments and resolve delivery or quality issues Maintain accurate purchasing records, inventory data, and supplier information Collaborate with internal teams to determine purchasing needs Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures Monitor inventory levels and forecast supply needs Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations Qualifications Education & Experience Moderate-term on-the-job training or related experience preferred Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, and production processes Knowledge of business operations, resource allocation, and vendor management Familiarity with transportation and logistics methods Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience with ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Core Competencies Critical thinking and decision-making Negotiation and vendor management Time management and organizational skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills Work Environment & Expectations Primarily office-based, indoor work environment Requires sitting for extended periods Frequent communication via phone, email, and in-person meetings Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision High level of accuracy required; decisions may impact company operations and finances 401(k) Health insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Schedule 8-hour shift Monday through Friday Raven Defense Corporation is an equal opportunity employer #J-18808-Ljbffr Raven Defense Corporation
