Automation & CNC Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Facility: Gardner Denver — Industrial Technology and Services, LLC (Ingersoll Rand) | 305 N State Fair Blvd, Sedalia, MO 65301

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

It’s 3:17 PM. A CNC mill trips on an axis fault. You scan the log, trace the issue to a drive component, and within minutes you’ve isolated the failure—Fanuc module swapped, parameters verified, and production resumes. Before the hour ends, you’re collaborating with a teammate to move a lathe using a fork truck, then sketching a small electrical alteration so you can submit a BOM and requisition for parts. • Tackle high-impact mechanical, electrical, and light construction repairs and new installs using drawings, schematics, and your experience.
• Diagnose drive and control issues down to component level on platforms such as Fanuc, Siemens, and Allen‑Bradley.
• Determine root cause, recommend preventive measures, and accurately document actions and history in the work order system.
• Communicate equipment status to internal customers; coordinate with external service reps when specialized support is required.
• Create sketches for mechanical changes and electrical circuits; build bills of material and open purchase requisitions.
• Use sound judgment to make day-to-day decisions that protect safety and uptime.
• Safely move materials with hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks, and hand trucks.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machinery, plant electrical systems, and pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.
• Reassemble equipment after maintenance; test parts, mark defects, and escalate when needed.
• Perform lubrication and adhesive applications as specified.
• Team with peers to repair or relocate machines and assemblies.
• Work on high-voltage systems up to 480 VAC, 3‑phase.
• Repair/replace linings and components made of metal, wood, leather, or glass in machines and enclosures.

• 2+ years in manufacturing maintenance.
• Hands-on proficiency with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic systems, CNC machinery, and controls.
• Ability to work from concepts when detailed prints/specifications are unavailable; strong blueprint/schematic literacy.
• Maintain accurate equipment and process documentation.
• Experienced with lathes, grinders, mills, drills, machining centers, and related machine tools.
• Strong teamwork and communication.

• Stand and walk up to 8 hours per shift.
• Lift up to 35 lbs. solo; up to 70 lbs. with assistance; push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Vision corrected to 20/35 or better.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years focused on CNC machine maintenance.

On-site at our Sedalia, MO facility. Travel is not expected.
