Dance Academy Instructor Jewish Silicon Valley - Los Gatos, CA Overview Salary Range $30.00 - $35.00 Hourly Position Type Part Time Job Shift Traditional & Non-Traditional Hours Description Department: Dance Academy Status: Minor Part-Time, At-Will, Non-Exempt, position Supervisor: Dance Academy Coordinator Summary: A Dance Instructor is responsible for educating students on proper technique and vocabulary of dance styles while in a safe and fun environment, as well as assisting the Dance Academy Coordinator with creating and executing Dance Recitals. Support, teach, and encourage participants to meet their dance goals. Functions: Instructing youth and adult dance class to APJCC members and guests Attend department meetings and continuing education classes to maintain qualifications Help keep the center well-stocked and really clean. Keep all equipment in good working condition. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness studio environment, picking up towels, water bottles, etc. Education: Dance or Child Development Degree, or some completed units in ECE or Dance at a college level preferred Qualifications Qualifications: 1 year teaching experience preferred. 4 years of Dance experience required. Extensive training in various dance formats Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification Strong communication skills Ability to teach and encourage all members Commitment to full series of classes at the APJCC Working Conditions: The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
