Meat Sales Associate

Weis Markets is hiring a Meat Department Associate at 40845 Merchants Lane to support inventory, customer service, and sanitation within the meat department. Responsibilities Keep meat department cases well stocked and visually appealing to meet customer demand. Greet customers, make product suggestions, answer questions about cuts and preparation. Take orders for future delivery and help fulfill special requests. Resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously. Set up displays and rotate product as needed. Ensure meat is fresh, properly priced, and properly signed with signage. Handle spoiled, damaged, or near‑expiration product according to company procedures. Remove unsaleable product to maintain quality standards. May grind and cut certain meats and poultry as required. Weigh, wrap, and apply stickers showing correct price and weight for customer requests. Maintain necessary logs to track freshness and quality. Adhere to all food and personal safety codes when handling product or utilizing kitchen tools. Perform general sanitation in the department, follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, and display cases clean and compliant with health and OSHA requirements. Dispose of trash properly and empty bone cans. Assist in minimizing shrink and controlling damages; report shortages or overages to management. Assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries using power jack or hand jack when properly trained (training provided). Assist with baling cardboard or related duties when properly trained (training provided). Ensure smooth operation of the department and store by cooperating with coworkers and superiors. Continuously improve job performance. Utilize all company‑provided personal protective equipment (PPE) such as cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company‑sponsored footwear. May be called upon to assist in other departments as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualification Requirements Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). No prior experience required. Rate of Pay and Benefits Hourly pay ranges from $15.00 to $22.00.
