Compensation $28-32 per hour Job Summary The Ready Mix Driver operates a truck with an auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites while operating under FMCSA and DOT regulations. Qualifications Safety – Maintains a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures, uses the appropriate tools and equipment, follows company policies, OSHA, and MSHA regulations, wears appropriate PPE, operates the truck safely and efficiently, and participates in Safety Conversations and Toolbox Talks. Quality – Follows NYS DOT and ASTM standards for delivery, identifies proper slump by eye and by reading a slump gauge, identifies mixtures and additives, ensures the mix meets customer specifications, understands mix design and job site specifications, resets and ensures the revolution counter operates, records job test results, and ensures all tickets are signed by the customer. Functional/Technical – Fills aggregate and sand bins on the concrete plant by operating the loader, shovels and cleans around the plant, performs a pre-trip inspection and prepares the required report, drives the truck under the loading hopper to receive materials and starts the mixer, drives to the location for unloading, moves levers to release concrete, cleans the truck after delivery to prevent hardening, sprays surfaces with protective compound, assembles and disassembles concrete chutes, monitors vehicle gauges and alerts appropriate parties of mechanical issues, and maintains truck fluids as part of pre-inspection. Willingness to work in a team environment, assist coworkers and supervisors, assist new hires in training, communicate openly and professionally with customers and colleagues, and work under adverse conditions to meet management goals. Minimum Experience and Qualifications Minimum high school diploma or GED. Valid CDL B driver’s license (without restriction). Previous field experience in concrete manufacturing preferred. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Standard office environment, travel required, lifting requirements, variable hours and shifts, varying weather conditions, ability to lift 50+ pounds, drive a commercial vehicle for up to 14 hours a day, climb in and out of the truck several times a day, and climb a ladder.
