Join more than 56,000 teammates working together to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve across North Carolina.The Certified Pharmacy Technician's primary duties will include sterile compounding of category 2 and category 3 products under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Additionally, this position will be part of the clean room sterilization team with a minimum requirement of 3 cleans per month.Working hours will rotate between days, evenings, and weekends.This position qualifies for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, which includes $5000 in commitment incentives spread over a two-year period. Payment is made after six months, one year, and two years of employment.Responsibilities:Fulfills medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and/or affiliated with the health system.Conducts sterile compounding of medication batches.Coordinates shipments to hospitals and clinics with multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensures compliance with temperature requirements (i.e., cold chain, room temperature).Documents pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc. using automated and paper systems. Ensures accuracy of data.Responds to and triages requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.Utilizes automated dispensing technology and associated software to fulfill medication orders.Receives, restocks, and rotates inventory, and completes expiration date management.Assists with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions.Contributes to process improvement projects.Participates in regulatory compliance inspection of medication storage areas, including inspections and/or controlled substance inventories, USP <797> (2023) and other regulatory documentation as required.Education Requirements: None required as long as other position qualifications are met. Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program preferred. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program. ·CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program. Professional Experience Requirements: Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods (most of an 8-hour shift). Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Must be able to reach over head to access shelved product or for cleaning.
