Position Summary and Qualifications

In the role of a Respiratory Therapist, you will be pivotal in assisting patients through both routine and critical care scenarios. Your responsibilities will include conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing both invasive and noninvasive ventilation in various healthcare environments. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Evaluating respiratory conditions through focused examinations, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, and identifying the need for respiratory interventions.
  • Administering evidence-based therapies, including oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments in emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
  • Overseeing ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placements, initiating and adjusting both invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and swiftly addressing clinical changes or emergencies.
  • Providing support to patients and the healthcare team by educating patients and their families, acting as a clinical resource, collaborating with physicians and nurses, and assisting in stabilizing newborns during deliveries when necessary.
  • Ensuring equipment safety and maintenance by setting up, operating, and cleaning respiratory devices; guaranteeing readiness and preventive maintenance; safely transporting ventilated patients; and adhering to all infection prevention protocols.

Required Qualifications:
  • (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
  • Associate Degree or completion of a Vocational Program
  • No prior experience required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
