As a Diesel Production & Warehouse Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory management, timely shipping, and quality production processes, contributing to DAPs reputation for reliability in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Job Summary
The Receiving and Inventory Associate is responsible for receiving, logging, inspecting, and storing incoming goodsincluding inventoried products, cores, returns, and non-inventory items. This role ensures all items are accurately documented, properly stored, and conform to company standards for quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining process accuracy in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Inspection

• Receive deliveries from carriers and local customers, verifying quantities, item types, and condition of goods.
• Log incoming shipments accurately in company records, ensuring all fields (date, source, tracking, PO/SO numbers, item details, and notes) are completed.
• Inspect goods and packaging for signs of damage or nonconformity; document issues and notify appropriate departments.
• Identify and categorize goods as inventoried, non-inventoried, cores, returns, or warranty items.

Documentation and Recordkeeping

• Maintain accurate and current receiving logs to ensure traceability of all incoming goods.
• Document discrepancies, damages, and missing items in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain records of photographs and reports related to damaged or nonconforming goods.Support compliance with company recordkeeping, safety, and quality standards.

Inventory and Storage

• Verify goods against purchase orders or related documentation prior to storage.
• Assign and place goods into correct storage locations based on established warehouse organization.
• Ensure all items are clearly labeled, organized, and accessible to production and sales teams.
• Assist in cycle counts and spot checks to verify accuracy of physical and digital inventory.

Core and Return Processing

• Receive and log customer cores, returns, and warranty items.
• Verify returned goods against sales orders or RMAs; identify discrepancies or nonconforming cores.
• Ensure nonconforming cores and damaged returns are quarantined and documented for review.
• Coordinate with the returns and testing teams to ensure proper disposition of goods.

Communication and Coordination

• Communicate with purchasing, sales, and production departments regarding discrepancies, damage, or missing items.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve nonconforming goods or order inconsistencies.
• Report large incoming shipments or complex issues promptly to supervisors.

Quality and Safety

• Adhere to company safety policies and proper lifting, handling, and storage procedures.
• Use required personal protective equipment (gloves, eyewear) as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Participate in quality control checks and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications
Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or inventory management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized processes.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate basic warehouse equipment safely.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and recordkeeping.

Preferred (Bonus):

• Knowledge of diesel or automotive parts.
• Experience inspecting and processing cores, returns, or warranty products.
• Familiarity with warehouse documentation or inventory tracking systems.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in warehouse and production settings.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely.
• Dexterity to handle packaging materials, small auto parts, and tools for cleaning and assembly.

Work Environment

• Warehouse and production setting with exposure to diesel auto parts, cores, cleaning solutions, and packaging materials.
• Fast-paced, collaborative environment using software tools for inventory and shipping.
• Potential for noise and dust in production areas, requiring adherence to safety protocols.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay:
  $18 - $22 hourly rate. Actual starting wage will vary and is determined by factors including relevant experience, education, certifications, diesel/automotive knowledge, skills assessment, and internal equity. Provided ranges are estimates based on market data and do not guarantee any specific rate of pay. Paid biweekly every other Friday.
• Overtime: Eligible for 1.5x regular rate for hours over 40 per week.
• Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrue 1 hour per 20 hours worked (0.05 hours/hour); increases to 1.4 hours/20 hours after 5 years, 1.71 hours/20 hours after 10 years. Max 200 hours; cash-out available with 40 hours remaining.
• Holidays: 8 hours paid for New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
• Bereavement Leave: Up to 24 hours paid for immediate family (spouse, child, parent, sibling); 8 hours for grandparents.
• New Child Leave: Up to 24 hours paid for birth/adoption of a child.
• Unpaid Sick Leave: 40 hours annually for illness (employee or child), resetting each January.
• Insurance:
  • Health/Dental: Eligible after 60-day introductory period for employees working 30+ hours/week; DAP covers base premium, with balance deducted from paychecks.
  • Life: Eligible after 60-day introductory period for 30+ hours/week; DAP covers base premium, with supplemental options available.
  • Workers Compensation: Full premium covered for work-related injuries, reported immediately to the team leader.
• Unemployment Insurance: Fully funded by DAP for eligible claims.

Employment Status

• Non-Exempt, Regular Hourly Full-Time: Expected to work 72+ hours per pay period after a 60-day introductory period. Employment is at-will, terminable by employee or DAP at any time.
