Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Leasing Consultant role based in Houghton, MI. The Leasing Consultant will welcome prospective residents, conduct property tours, and provide accurate information about floor plans, pricing, availability, amenities, and community policies. Daily responsibilities include responding to phone, email, and walk-in inquiries, following up with leads, assisting with applications, and ensuring all leasing documents are completed accurately and in compliance with company policies. The role will support resident retention by offering excellent customer service, addressing questions or concerns, and coordinating with maintenance and management teams. Additional duties include assisting with marketing activities, maintaining an organized leasing office, updating property management systems, and contributing to a positive community atmosphere. Qualifications Strong customer service and resident relations skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and provide solutions in a professional manner. Sales and leasing aptitude, with comfort presenting property features, handling objections, and closing leases in an ethical and goal-oriented way. Organizational and administrative skills, including attention to detail, accurate completion of paperwork, and effective time management in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with basic computer applications and property management or CRM software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Ability to work on-site, including weekends or evenings as needed, and collaborate effectively with on-site management and maintenance teams. Prior experience in leasing, hospitality, retail, or customer-facing roles is preferred but not required; training may be provided. Knowledge of fair housing practices and a commitment to an inclusive, non-discriminatory approach to residents and prospects.
