Custodian

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian at Kelly Elementary School. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are maintained and stored properly.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.
- Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all students and staff.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests in a timely manner.
- Support the school's recycling and waste management programs.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall cleanliness and functionality of the school facility.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as perform physical tasks throughout the day.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Must pass background checks and adhere to school policies and regulations.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for special events or cleaning tasks.
