Job Description – Human Resources GeneralistPosition SummaryThe Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This position serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers by providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations, training and development, benefits administration, payroll support, performance management, and compliance initiatives.The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and passionate about developing employees and supporting organizational growth in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEmployee RelationsServe as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, leave administration, and employment matters.Partner with managers to address employee concerns, coaching opportunities, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.Conduct workplace investigations and document findings.Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information.Training & Employee DevelopmentCoordinate and administer new hire orientation and onboarding programs.Develop, schedule, and facilitate employee training programs, including compliance, safety, leadership, and professional development training.Maintain the company's training calendar and training records.Track employee certifications, licenses, and required training to ensure compliance.Partner with department managers to identify training needs and create employee development plans.Assist with succession planning and career development initiatives.Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.Support cross-training initiatives to enhance workforce flexibility and employee growth.Coordinate external training programs and educational opportunities as needed.Performance ManagementCoordinate the annual and ongoing performance review process.Assist managers with goal setting, performance documentation, and employee development planning.Monitor performance evaluation completion and provide guidance on best practices.Support employee recognition and performance improvement initiatives.Benefits AdministrationAssist employees with benefit enrollment, qualifying life events, and benefit changes.Respond to employee benefit questions and coordinate with benefit providers.Support annual open enrollment activities.Maintain accurate benefits records.Payroll & HR AdministrationReview employee timekeeping information and process payroll-related changes.Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.Process employment status changes including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.Prepare employment verification letters and HR reports.Track attendance, leave requests, FMLA, and other employee leave programs.Maintain accurate HR documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.ComplianceEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Assist with OSHA reporting, safety documentation, and workers' compensation administration.Maintain HR policies and procedures and communicate updates to employees.Participate in internal audits and compliance initiatives.Ensure required employment and training documentation is maintained.Additional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Assist with employee engagement events, wellness programs, and company communications.Develop HR reports and metrics for leadership.Support organizational change management initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Experience3–5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.Experience in employee training, learning and development, employee relations, and HR compliance preferred.Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, COBRA, EEOC, and OSHA regulations.Experience coordinating employee training and development programs.Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.You should be proficient in:Human ResourcesMachines & technologies you'll use:Power Point #J-18808-Ljbffr
