Desired Experience and Qualifications Valid RN license with eligibility to practice in the state of New York Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills Ability to function collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities Responsibilities Provide specialized care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries, heart failure, heart attacks, and related procedures Monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamics, and cardiac rhythms with accuracy and attention to detail Implement and evaluate individualized care plans, administering medication and therapies as needed Operate and troubleshoot advanced equipment, including ventilators, intra‑aortic balloon pumps, and external pacemakers Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, physicians, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless patient care Educate patients and their families about post‑operative care and recovery processes Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with facility protocols This contract position offers the chance to develop expertise in a specialized unit, work alongside dedicated healthcare professionals, and contribute to the highest standards of patient care.
