This is a well-established, high-acuity medical center with a dedicated children's hospital located in Tampa, FL. The facility operates as a Level 2 trauma center with a Level 2 pediatric designation and supports a robust, collaborative neurosurgical program with multidisciplinary teams focused on delivering complex, specialized surgical care.

Opportunity:
Physician – Neurological Surgery

Job Details:

• Provide locum tenens coverage collaborating with an established pediatric neurosurgical program focused on complex neuro-oncology cases
• Evaluate and perform complex neuro-oncology surgical cases in collaboration with the existing neurosurgeon
• Provide surgical management expertise for brain and spinal tumor patients
• Participate in telehealth conferences and multidisciplinary discussions for pre-operative case review and surgical planning
• Support continuity of care through post-operative consultation and follow-up as needed
• On-site availability approximately 1-2 days per week, primarily for complex surgical cases
• Flexible weekday scheduling with consistent weekly availability required to support the neuro-oncology patient population
• Virtual availability for pre-operative case reviews and care coordination is required
• No call requirement and no clinic requirement
• Board Certified in Neurosurgery required
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Active Florida license or IMLC required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe of 60 days
• Required skills include general neurosurgery (adult, pediatric, neonate, and trauma), cerebrovascular surgery (open and endovascular), carotid or vertebral artery surgery, aneurysm clipping, tumor surgery including neuroendocrine, stereotactic radiosurgery, VP shunt, skull base surgery, spinal surgery with and without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar), peripheral nerve surgery, pain procedures, endovascular procedures, placement of ICP monitors, application of external traction, ventilator management, and central line placement
• Patient encounters per shift vary; ongoing locum tenens engagement starting ASAP

Compensation:
