Responsibilities Interpret, verify, and dispense medication orders while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards. Review patient medication profiles for allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and appropriateness of therapy; identify and report adverse drug reactions. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify orders, optimize medication therapy, and support positive patient outcomes. Support formulary management through therapeutic interchange protocols, evidence-based medication selection, and minimization of non-formulary drug use. Prepare and dispense medications, including sterile intravenous admixtures, utilizing appropriate technology and aseptic techniques. Provide drug information, education, and clinical guidance to healthcare professionals, pharmacy students, and other stakeholders. Utilize pharmacy technology and information systems to support safe, accurate, and efficient pharmaceutical care. Assist with pharmacy operations by coordinating daily workflow and providing guidance to pharmacy technicians, interns, aides, and other support personnel.
