Position Description Salary Range: $30.00-$40.00 per hour (May vary based on experience and qualifications) Position Summary : The mechanic is responsible for maintaining company assets by completing inspections, diagnostics, adhering to preventative maintenance schedules and correcting vehicle deficiencies per manufacturer specifications while upholding records utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) in a safe and responsible manner. The successful applicant will be compensated based on his ability to successfully support the operations. Essential Functions : The following list is intended to be exemplary of the physical demands of the position however it is not exhaustive of all day-to-day functions. The applicant will be required to perform any or all of the following in a given day or week:
- Adheres to all safety rules, wears proper PPE and works safely on all jobs.
- Possesses advanced mechanical and electrical knowledge essential for effectively diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
- Proficiently executes MIG/Stick welding techniques and fabricates components when necessary, contributing to efficient repair processes.
- Immediately notifies the foreman of any equipment damage, safety hazards, or accidents, prioritizing prompt resolution and risk mitigation.
- Must be able to consistently lift and/or manipulate with push/pull force +/- 50 pounds;
- While performing the duties of this position the incumbent is regularly required to stand for up to 10-12 hours (rest breaks as required by law will be provided), use hands, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, walk, climb stairs, ladders, & catwalks, stoop, bend, twist, kneel and crouch.
- Conducts thorough vehicle inspections and diagnostic tests, employing keen attention to detail to identify potential deficiencies.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state vehicle regulations by conducting NYS inspections and emissions tests as mandated, upholding legal and safety standards.
- Cleans equipment components and work areas meticulously before service, preserving operational integrity and hygiene standards.
- Responds to all assigned requests for roadside assistance or repair of equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
