Why Experienced L&D Nurses Choose Mercy ✨ Care for moms and babies across the birth experience Collaborative relationships with OB physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and support staff Evidence-based practice with a strong culture of nursing excellence Mission-driven care focused on patients, families, and coworkers As a Registered Nurse in our Labor & Birth team, you will: Labor & Delivery Nursing Excellence Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care Interpret fetal monitoring and communicate findings to providers Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, and high-risk pregnancies Patient & Family Centered Care Create individualized care plans that promote optimal outcomes Communicate effectively with physicians, midwives, neonatal clinicians, and interdisciplinary teams Participate in bedside shift reports and patient handoffs utilizing safety tools such as SBAR Coordinate care seamlessly across departments Utilize evidence-based nursing practice Participate in quality improvement initiatives Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new nurses as opportunities arise Maintain nursing competencies and professional certifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN) ✅ Current RN License (Missouri or compact state) ✅ Recent Labor & Delivery, Labor & Birth, Mother-Baby, Women's Services, or LDRP experience C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification) Additional Women's Services certifications You'll join a team where nurses are respected, supported, and empowered to practice at the top of their license while making a meaningful impact on families every day.
