Overview Job Posting Title: APP - Endocrinology Hospital Sites: NEMG Multispecialty Center / Stonington Medical Center Locations: New London / Stonington, CT Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, daytime (no evenings or weekends) Scheduled Hours: 24 hours/week Position Type: 0.60 EMR System: EPIC Benefits Competitive salary Comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance Pension plan matched tax‑sheltered annuity plan and Roth contributions Tuition assistance effective day one Generous PTO program Loan forgiveness program Employee wellness initiatives and support programs Professional development and continuing education opportunities Responsibilities Clinical Care: provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as part of an interdisciplinary team; obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review orders and results, formulate and manage treatment plans; prescribe treatment and medications in accordance with institutional and state guidelines; may act as first or second assistant on operative cases within scope; respond to emergency situations as required. Patient Education & Psychosocial Support: educate patients/families on care and resources, including admitting instructions, treatment plan, side effects, and discharge plan; provide psychosocial support to patients, family members and significant others. Information Management: ensure appropriate documentation within hospital and regulatory requirements; protect patient information from unauthorized access. Quality Management: maintain high standard of ethical behavior, compliance with patient‑related healthcare regulatory requirements, standards and recommendations. Professional Development: engage in projects to maintain and advance competency; serve as clinical resource or preceptor for house staff and students; participate in research, quality assurance and performance improvement projects. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program. Active PA Certification by NCCPA and Connecticut State Physician Assistant License; ACLS/BLS Certified; additional licensure (DEA, PALS, NRP) as required. Active RN License or NP License and board specialty certification as appropriate. Evidence of current competence to practice; reference letters from physicians. Experience Preferred clinical working experience as NP/PA within the given specialty/service line recommended; none required.
