Schedule: Monday-Friday | Day Shift (On-call and overtime as needed)

Position Overview


Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled and dependable Lead or Journeyman Refrigeration Service Technician to join a growing mechanical services team supporting commercial and light industrial customers throughout the Indianapolis area.


This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, can lead by example on job sites, and is comfortable installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining large commercial refrigeration and mechanical systems. The position offers steady work, strong team support, and the opportunity to play a key role in a respected, locally operated service organization.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support technicians on commercial refrigeration job sites
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration and climate control systems
• Install new refrigeration equipment, duct systems, and mechanical components
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and service documentation
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
• Replace components such as motors, compressors, seals, and controls
• Coordinate materials, parts, and job requirements to ensure efficient project completion
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, maintenance, and system recommendations
• Complete service reports, documentation, and work orders accurately
• Support and mentor junior technicians and helpers
• Follow all safety, quality, and company standards
• Participate in occasional after-hours or emergency service calls as needed

Qualifications

• Proven experiencein commercial refrigeration or HVAC service
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience installing and servicing large refrigeration systems preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and technical schematics
• Strong brazing and soldering skills
• Knowledge of building and mechanical codes preferred
• Leadership mindset with the ability to guide helpers or junior technicians
• Reliable, organized, and customer-focused
• Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
