District Office Receptionist

District Office Receptionist is responsible for performing duties typically associated with receptionist and customer service functions to include: answering and directing callers to appropriate parties; providing routine information and customer assistance to the public, greets, provides information and directs visitors; provides clerical support in entering and updating various information into department files and/or records

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive and helpful demeanor when interacting with diverse individuals
• Answer district office phone lines and directs calls to appropriate departments/persons after determining the nature of the calls
• Screens visitors/students/public coming into the office providing assistance with routine questions, information and/or directing them to the appropriate parties
• Schedule/maintain daily conference room schedule and district office access system
• Manage the distribution and organization of incoming mail and packages
• Provide clerical support in maintaining, entering, updating and/or filing various files, documents, and/or records for the Human Resources department
• Perform other duties of a comparable level or type, as required

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of experience in an office setting (preferred)

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Ability to exercise confidentiality in handing School District information
• Ability to work collaboratively with office and district staff
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exceptional customer service skills; respectful and collaborative interactions with others
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Position requires flexibility and a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks sometimes at the direction of more than one person
• Excellent verbal skills; comfortable presenting information
• Ability to initiate, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently with little work direction
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others and present a professional appearance

Physical Demands

• Position involves listening, speaking clearly and visual acuity
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds at times
