Job Summary: Manhattan is looking for a full-time supervisor. We are looking for someone who has good people skills, enjoys helping others, able to lead others and wants to be of part of Impacting Lives here at Manhattan Ace Hardware. The Supervisor role entails helping customers, stocking items, cashier as needed, complete various store projects, etc. This position requires one weekend day and at least one closing shift (7pm) and a flexible schedule is not required but is very helpful. Supervisory Responsibilities: Helps to oversee the daily workflow of the Sales Floor. Monitors the radio to ensure all calls are answered and communicates with the team about customer calls. Continuously checks in with employees on the floor and knows what they are working on. Provides training and support to employees. Assists with training employees on products, services, and customer service standards. Provides on-the-spot training, coaching, and redirection to employees when necessary. Assigns work to employees during their shift. If they have performed their expected duties, the supervisor will assign them to work in another part of the store. Performs other related duties as assigned. Duties/Responsibilities: Provides a high level of customer service in all areas of the store by walking around the store. Answers customer service calls. Works with the Rental Department and offers assistance for customer needs in Rental. Provides department maintenance including cleaning, straightening, and detailing of merchandise. Stock merchandise to the shelf accurately. Addresses customer complaints and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations. Assists cashier and stocking teams. Meet with the floor leader at the beginning of each shift to share necessary information. Perform opening and closing duties as required. Hold a brief huddle each night before closing duties commence to discuss closing duties. Ensures a safe work environment for all customers and employees. Adheres to health and safety regulations and promotes a culture of safety. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Google suite of products or related software and able to learn other software used by the company. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous supervisor/leadership in retail sales and customer service is required. General knowledge of hardware and outdoor power equipment is preferred. Qualifications Must be reliable, friendly, helpful, and attentive to our customers and teammates. Physical Requirements: This position requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, lifting, bending, stretching, and kneeling. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
