High School Campus Supervisor

$26.32 - $29.83 per hour

Position Overview Steamboat Springs High School is seeking a Campus Supervisor. This is a full‑time, hourly, non‑exempt position working 173 days per year. Insurance benefit eligibility applies. The schedule will be discussed with the school Principal. Pay ranges from $26.32 to $29.83 per hour based on experience. Primary Responsibilities Supervise and monitor students and visitors entering and exiting the building at the front door. Greet and receive school visitors courteously, professionally and promptly, directing and assisting them. Notify or address any visitor who bypasses the office or exhibits suspicious activity. Assist with school bus loading/unloading supervision. Monitor student activities by regularly circulating throughout the school building and campus. Monitor bathrooms and students in commons areas, halls, and other assigned areas. Maintain and store Commons recess equipment properly. Keep Commons doors open and closed during transitional periods and at the beginning and end of the day; conduct outside door checks on a scheduled basis. Enforce modified open‑campus policies and ensure students not eligible do not leave campus during lunch or open periods; assist in enforcing discipline policy. Monitor parking areas, enforce parking policies, administer, issue, track, and manage parking permits. Assist and monitor school video surveillance systems; work with school admin and police officer on access and archives. Assist and help manage school cell phone policy, including Yondr pouch implementation, usage, tracking, and communication. Assist in managing substance abuse policy, monitoring bathrooms, surveillance, and sensor systems. Assist in tracking and communicating student detentions, supervising students serving lunch or open period detentions. Be familiar with and assist with school emergency procedures. Assist with supervision of school activities and events upon administrator request. Maintain student records regarding parking, open campus, cell phone violations, etc.; data entry and parent contact for parking offenders. Keep up to date with school and building policies and assist in implementation of existing and new policies. Assist administration with student attendance, tardiness, and discipline; aid in attendance protocols and data entry. Faculty and Staff Support Assist with disciplinary issues. Provide school or student related information or records regarding attendance and discipline. Assist building principals with generation of school, student or staff related information. Perform other duties as assigned by building principals. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with students and/or policy enforcement. Ability to work independently without direct supervision. Ability to work early mornings during the school day. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, staff, co‑workers, administrators, parents and community members. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Computer proficiency with Google products, Microsoft Office Suite and student data programs. Working knowledge of basic office procedures and office machines. Skills and Abilities Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations; write reports and business correspondence; present information and respond to questions from parents, community, commissions, colleagues, and Board of Education. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply basic algebra, geometry. Reasoning Ability: Define problems, collect data, interpret instructions, draw conclusions. Technology Skills: Proficient use of word processing, spreadsheets, internet, data analysis, email, and technology integration. Other Abilities: Apply current research and theory in budget and finance; establish and maintain effective relationships; communicate clearly; coordinate, instruct, evaluate, negotiate; perform duties in compliance with district requirements. Physical Demands Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching. Lift items up to 50 pounds from floor level to four feet. Stand for long periods; withstand pushing, pulling, squatting, and reaching. Endure outdoor elements including extreme cold, heat, rain, snow, and mountain climatic conditions. Manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination to perform responsibilities. Work Environment The work environment includes quiet to loud noise levels depending on the activity during the school day.
