Job Description The purpose of this position is to provide essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position serves as an Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs moderately complex engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a broad set of complex assignments. Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities Perform system studies (e.g., Radio Frequency (RF) and/or Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and/or Public Address (PA) coverage, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) data traffic analyses and distributed storage, and network bandwidth allocations calculations) Develop major telecommunication system/equipment specifications (e.g., RF/WLAN, telephony, Outside Cable System (OCS), Structured Cabling Systems (SCS), weather monitoring) For medium to large projects, develop telecommunication equipment location philosophy and guidelines based upon project area classifications and design documents Perform/review calculations (such as RF and/or WLAN and/or PA coverage, CCTV data traffic analyses and distributed storage and network bandwidth allocations) and telecommunication system schematics and wiring diagrams Determine installed cost estimates, develop schedules and report on progress for medium size projects Represent CommSec in model reviews; closely monitor 3D modeling prepared by design group utilizing review software Turn over Packages (SAT Systems Acceptance Test) Identify deviations in job scope, estimate magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change orders Deliver quality work, and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR) Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities Technical Document Reviews: Building Plan Drawings - STO & Paging Location Plans Cable Schedules Communication Room Plans Communication Rooms Elevations (Racks & or Enclosures) Communications Systems Architectural Diagram Entrance Facility Elevations (Backboards) Grounding Diagrams - Communication Rooms Interconnection Diagrams (Cross-Connects) Maintenance & Hand Hole Drawings (Butterflies) Network Interface Device (NID) Elevations Power Distribution Diagrams - UPS Service Site Wide Plan Drawings (Routing Layouts & Location Plans) Standard Drawings (Installation Details) Stub-Up Plan Drawings System Logical Block Diagram Teleconferences Trend Development Basic Job Requirements Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Membership in technical society Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting Practical field experience Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e‑mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs Other Job Requirements Experience and advanced knowledge of medium to large project’s integrated telecommunication systems and physical security systems; ability to use skills and experience to develop and review project Scope of Services and Scope of Facilities for all phases of projects from Front End Engineering Development (FEED) to detailed design to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Integrated Site Acceptance Testing (ISAT) Construction Network Infrastructure Emergency Operations Center Facility Monitoring System (FMS) - (for Communication Rooms) Incoming Service Communications IPTV / Entertainment System Local Area Network (LAN) Outside Plant (OSP) Cabling System (Backbone): Radio Frequency (RF) Systems Aeronautical Avoidance Collision System RFID UHF VHF VSAT WiFi Security & Surveillance Systems: Badging Systems Barriers Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems Xray Site Notification System: PAGA
