The Opportunity Following the retirement of a long-tenured Controller, the company is seeking a strategic financial leader to modernize the finance function, manage scaling operations across North America, and serve as the primary financial partner to executive leadership. This is not a passive "close the books" role — it's a high-impact position that blends traditional controllership with FP&A, treasury, and cross-functional leadership. Key Responsibilities Direct all accounting operations including GAAP financial statements, cost accounting, and multi-state payroll Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting; provide executive leadership with actionable analysis on labor utilization and service margins Own the relationship with external auditors and tax preparers; ensure rigorous compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across all jurisdictions Evaluate and enhance the current tech stack to support more complex reporting and automation Design and implement robust internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets and ensure audit readiness Manage corporate liquidity, banking relationships, and debt compliance; provide real-time financial guidance to support operational and commercial activity Own end-to-end quarterly federal and state income tax estimates across a multi-state footprint Manage corporate insurance coverages including renewals and audits Lead, develop, and mentor a small accounting team What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA highly preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3–5 years in a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager role Experience in contract services, facilities management, or labor-intensive business models preferred Proven track record managing multi-entity and multi-state financial operations Expertise in GAAP and sophisticated financial reporting tools; ERP implementation or major system migration experience a significant plus Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, strategic narratives for non-financial stakeholders Core Competencies Visionary accuracy: sees the big picture without losing sight of the details Operational agility: pivots between high-level strategy and hands-on execution Ethical stewardship: the ultimate guardian of company integrity Strategic communication: builds consensus, advises leadership, communicates the "why" behind the numbers #J-18808-Ljbffr
