Do you enjoy being on the road, working with your hands, and meeting new people? Join Chambliss Center for Children as a Thrift Store Box Truck Driver and help keep our thrift stores running while supporting a mission that makes a difference in the lives of children and families. We are hiring two full-time drivers to work as a two-person team. You'll travel throughout the region picking up donated furniture and other items from generous donors and delivering those items to the 2 thrift stores. If you're dependable, safety-minded, physically able to lift and carry furniture, and enjoy helping people, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

• Safely operate a company box truck throughout the Chattanooga region and surrounding areas
• Pick up donated furniture, appliances, household goods, and other items from homes and businesses
• Load, unload, lift, carry, and move heavy and bulky items
• Provide friendly, professional service to donors and customers
• Follow safe driving and lifting practices
• Complete pickups and deliveries efficiently and on schedule
• Communicate professionally with customers, donors, and thrift store staff
• Keep the truck clean and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Represent Chambliss Center for Children and our thrift stores positively in the community

What We're Looking For

• Dependable and punctual
• A safe and responsible driver
• Friendly, polite, and comfortable interacting with the public
• Comfortable lifting and carrying heavy furniture and appliances
• Physically able to repeatedly bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry items
• Able to safely navigate homes, businesses, stairs, driveways, and other pickup/delivery locations
• Comfortable working independently while staying in communication with the team
• Willing to help wherever needed

Driver Requirements

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• No CDL or special commercial driver's license required
• Previous box truck, delivery, moving, warehouse, furniture, or similar experience is helpful but not required
• Must be comfortable driving a larger vehicle
• Must be able to safely lift and carry heavy items, including furniture and appliances
