Job Title: Site Installation Engineer

Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Remote - Central US on either Central or Eastern Time Zone. Near airport a plus.

Schedule: 40 hr work week. 8:00am - 5:00pm, with flexibility to start earlier or later depending on the day. Some weekend work may be required.

Travel: 80 100% travel is required , potentially across all U.S. time zones. Home-based when not traveling.

Divided in 2 the Lifecycle team for post implementation for customers, and the installation team

The installation team is short-staffed and need support on the installation team

Delivery team does the delivery of the equipment, does the basic placing setup.

Then this person does the actual hardware and software setup to get it working, do the verifications, ensure everything is working properly.

80-100% travel in mid-west, Chicago Lands Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Indiana, go where the business is, will try to keep them as close to home as possible, will try to give buffer week after 3-4 weeks in the field

Help install lab equipment in hospitals and labs

Will get cell phone, laptop, rental car

8am-5pm, flexibility in hours as long as customers are ok, weekend work may be required

Work is scheduled out some in advance

Preference for someone looking

Training will be both virtual, and onsite for hardware training in Cary, NC or Tarrytown, NY

Start by co-traveling with a mentor before they start working on their own

Instruments: Like for blood analysis, Atellica and CI platforms, or Automation line

Manager would like to extend or convert the right people if possible.

Looking for:

Strong field customer service skills, comfortable talking to management

The manager anticipates a possible extension.

If a permanent position is approved, there may be an opportunity for the selected worker to remain with the team, based on acceptable performance.

Position Overview:
The Instrument Installation Specialist is a critical member of our national installation team; this is a field-based, customer-facing role that primarily installs Siemens Diagnostic equipment at our customer sites. Our Specialist represent the "Face of Siemens" to the customer. The Instrument Installation Specialist reports to the Customer Service Manager (CSM). Vehicle needed but candidate should live near a major airport, as additional travel may be required outside of assigned territory.

Responsibilities:
Installs Atellica, CI1900, Aptio, Flex Lab X, HT, and automation reconfigurations at install site, by performing Start-up and calibration of systems within a planned project timeline. Supports break/fixes during the entire project cycle, communicates, escalates technical issues and delays to keep installation projects on schedule; assures quality; schedule, budget and customer satisfaction during project implementation phases.
Evaluates site layout and installation quality of our mechanical install vendors, start-up in accordance with factory instructions and specifications; troubleshoot technical problems and repair out of box failures errors; orders missing or damaged parts; provide feedback to vendors, factory, project management and planning.
Uses the tools provided to document the predefined installation tasks.
Provide expert level mentoring support to field service organization.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Technical training or degree, associates or higher; minimum of 2-3 years of experience with Atellica/CI1900 system, Automation, installation, or service
Basic Understanding of facilities and electrical requirements
Ability to travel overnight 90% of the time anywhere in the US.
May require weekend work.
End of the Quarter work requires "All-Hands-On-Deck" attitude to achieve business Goals.
Expert level troubleshooting skills and capable of evaluating room layout and site Planning.
Must be able to effectively set up and connect hospital networks to Siemens remote diagnostics.
Must be organized, self-sufficient and capable of working with little or no supervision.
Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Performs complex equipment installation, investigative tests, and repairs.
Performs ATP, Calibrations, and Precision on Diagnostic products
Maintains tools & parts inventory, schedules maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and completes documents required of all installations.
Performs complex service or systems calls and interfaces with customer personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution.
Performs assessment of complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements.
Successfully demonstrates thorough/ advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area.
2-3 Years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
A relevant degree which may substitute for a portion of required working experience
