Chief Purpose of this Position

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology is seeking a BC/BE Cardiologistwith demonstrated skills in cardiovascular disease. VCU Health'sPauley Heart Center is seeking a dedicated and experiencedNon-Invasive Cardiologist with a focus on Cardiac Imaging. Thesuccessful candidate will join a team committed to providingexceptional cardiovascular care, advancing scientific discovery,and training the next generation of healthcare providers. Candidateshould be clinically oriented and possess sufficient research andteaching experience to be eligible for an academic appointment. Thecandidate must be able to communicate effectively and work within alarge multidisciplinary program. The successful candidate will beexpected to participate in teaching and fellowship programs.Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state ofVirginia.

Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching: Engage in the education and training of medicalstudents, residents, and fellows. Participate in continuing medicaleducation programs and present at departmental conferences.

Research: To support clinical research protocols asneeded.

Service: Participate in quality, safety, and efficiencyinitiatives. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhancepatient care.

Clinical: Provide expert management of cardiology patients,with a focus on non-invasive cardiac imaging techniques such as echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and CT angiography. Expertise orinterest in valvular heart disease is appreciated.

Other: Submit billing and document care as required by theorganization. Abide by all medical staff requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiologist
• Sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible foracademic appointment
• Strong communication and clinical skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
