Summary

Black Rocket is looking for a dynamic leader to join our team! The Assistant Director's primary role is to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction in all of Black Rocket's enrichment and education programs. These programs include courses across multiple STEM domains, with a focus on technology. This position requires someone with the ability and experience to effectively manage people and projects in a variety of areas. Some out of state travel is required. The Assistant Director is required to be at Black Rocket headquarters in Freehold, New Jersey two days per week.

The Position

As the Assistant Director, you will play a key role in ensuring that our customer satisfaction and quality goals are met. You will be part of the team that is responsible for the development, administration, and operation of nationwide summer enrichment programs. Responsibilities include recruiting and training of teachers, scheduling of classes, and providing customer support with site visits. The role calls for a diverse set of skills in recruiting, customer relations, and planning.

In the off season, the Assistant Director may support either the sales or curriculum development teams.

Core Qualifications /Skills

The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter who takes ownership of their work, while incorporating feedback from key stakeholders. THey bring a flexible, can-do attitude to shifting priorities and naturally look for creative solutions when obstacles arise. Candidates may be from a field in Education, such as K-12, Ed Tech, or Youth Enrichment, or similar industry.

Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience, with at last two of those years in a supervisory or management position.

Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred.

Experience in the areas below:

• Strategic planning

• Project management and tactical execution of goals

• Staff training

• Business development or sales

• Teacher recruitment, scheduling, and supervision

• Online learning

• Experience managing educators, technology, and business staff

• Ability to work in a team with shared responsibilities and objectives

• Superior attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Customer oriented philosophy and customer service

• Strong presentation skills for conferences, workshops, and webinars

• High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint or comparable Google programs

• Understanding and responsibility for budgets and department P/L

Additional Qualifications:

• Additional Educational Certifications, such as Supervisor or School Leader Experience with summer camp enrichment or youth programs a plus!

• Proficiency with database systems and their basic functions (Examples would be CRM, ATS, scheduling software, accounting software, etc.)

• Experience with online learning management systems

• Knowledge of curriculum development theory and best practices

• Ability to seek and write Grants or RFPs

Pay based on experience: $67,000 - $80,000 annual base pay with additional pay for profit sharing bonuses
