Position Overview

Our organization is in search of a committed and skilled Registered Nurse to fill the role of Assistant Director within the Mother Baby Unit at Monmouth Medical Center. This position presents an excellent opportunity for those looking to step into management, as you will assist the Director in overseeing the operations of the Mother Baby Unit.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • A minimum of one year of current experience in Mother Baby care
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Certifications and Licenses:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey
• Preferred:
  • Prior management experience
  • Specialty certification

Work Schedule

This is a full-time night position.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Director will provide nursing care in an acute care environment, adhering to the standards set by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory guidelines. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the direction and supervision of all activities within the patient care setting.
• Performing nursing duties as required.
• Ensuring safety in practice by being aware of personal knowledge and experience levels, while also promoting the advancement of knowledge among the patient care team.
• Utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet individual patient needs.
• Supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate staff members.
• Exercising independent judgment in assigning tasks and evaluating staff performance.
• Maintaining knowledge of the patient population served and adhering to ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, laws, and regulations within the Mother Baby Unit.
