Job Title: Warehouse Worker / Shipping & Receiving Clerk / Warehouse Service Technician Job Description

This role combines shipping and receiving, inventory management, and exhibit preparation within a large, well-organized warehouse that supports high-end trade show and retail displays. You verify and process inbound and outbound shipments, maintain accurate inventory records, prepare and repair exhibit materials for events, and collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to ensure that all products are delivered, staged, and returned in excellent condition.

• Arrange all transportation for outbound and inbound shipments, including air shipments, forwarding and split shipments, and ensure logistics are correctly coordinated and documented.
• Monitor parcel and freight shipments through carriers such as FedEx, UPS, AFU, and local providers, tracking deliveries and confirming timely arrival.
• Retrieve and verify purchase order numbers and receiving information for all shipments and booth properties before processing.
• Receive inbound shipments from all carriers, log deliveries in the daily receiving log, inspect for damages, and confirm that packing lists and Bills of Lading match received goods in quantity and condition.
• Compare incoming shipment counts against purchase order details, promptly report discrepancies, and complete required documentation such as RWOA forms.
• Distribute incoming shipments to the appropriate internal teams in a timely and organized manner.
• Prepare, document, and dispatch outbound shipments according to schedules, ensuring accuracy, proper packaging, and on-time release.
• Ensure all scheduled shipments are dispatched according to plan and follow up on any delays or issues with carriers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate logistics and transportation needs, aligning shipment timing with project requirements.
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams about shipment status, including incoming and outgoing deliveries, and update them on any changes.
• Track inbound and outbound shipments, proactively follow up with carriers and internal stakeholders to resolve transit issues or delays.
• Communicate with drivers and carriers regarding delivery schedules, pickup coordination, and dock or loading requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, updating systems to reflect movement of client inventory and warehouse stock as needed.
• Track, secure, and communicate availability of giveaway items and promptly report any inventory discrepancies.
• Safely operate a forklift to efficiently load and unload semi-trailers and support overall warehouse operations.
• Prepare client inventory and products for use at trade shows and events, loading items into crates and pallets for shipment.
• Write detailed, legible manifests for all elements to be shipped, ensuring all inventory, hardware, and setup instructions are clearly documented.
• Unload trailers with a forklift upon return from shows or events and stage freight for inspection in designated areas.
• Conduct thorough inspections of returned inventory to identify damages or missing items, including testing lighting and verifying functional components.
• Perform minor repairs such as regluing laminate, touching up paint, repairing wood skids and crates, and completing minor electrical cord and fixture repairs.
• Reload items into shipping containers after inspection to prepare them for the next outbound shipment.
• Review manifests for accuracy and ensure additional manifests are included when shipments are forwarding or splitting after dismantle.
• Develop strong working relationships with sales teams and project managers through clear verbal and written communication.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of client products and unique client needs to support accurate preparation and handling of exhibits.
• Demonstrate excellent memory and the ability to accurately recall key details about inventory, client requirements, and exhibit components.
• Ensure accuracy and strong attention to detail in all assigned responsibilities, from documentation to physical handling of materials.
• Travel frequently to trade shows to supervise exhibit setups and dismantles, providing on-site support and outstanding customer service to clients.
• Work in the assembly area using hand and power tools to build displays according to blueprints or specific work orders.
• Start in the production area with less direct customer work, assembling standard displays and learning processes and quality expectations.
• Progress to more custom displays for larger clients once you demonstrate accurate and efficient assembly capabilities.
• Assist with free-hand cuts and table saw operations under guidance from full-time employees, and eventually perform these cuts independently once fully trained.
• Work at individual cell stations to build customized displays alongside tenured employees, while still being able to complete tasks independently.
• Stay open to learning new processes, accept feedback, and adapt to established methods rather than being resistant or close-minded.

• Experience with inventory management and material handling in a warehouse or production environment.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift to load and unload semi-trailers and move materials throughout the warehouse.
• Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes, including order verification, logging deliveries, and preparing outbound shipments.
• Ability to read and understand manifests, packing lists, Bills of Lading, purchase orders, blueprints, and work orders.
• Competence using computers and warehouse systems to check items in and out, update inventory records, and track shipments.
• Skill in using hand and power tools for assembly, minor repairs, and basic fabrication tasks.
• Ability to measure accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure proper fit and assembly of components.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, inventory counts, and quality inspections.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams, carriers, and clients.
• Capacity to work independently at a station while also collaborating effectively with tenured and full-time employees.
• Willingness to travel frequently to trade shows to oversee setups and dismantles and support clients on-site.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into correct assembly, packing, and shipment of displays.

• Experience using SAP or similar inventory and enterprise resource planning systems.
• Background in crate building, packing, and order picking in a production or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with assembly work related to exhibits, displays, or similar fabricated products.
• Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and production equipment such as table saws and other cutting tools.
• Ability to interpret and follow detailed blueprints and specific work orders for custom display builds.
• Experience performing minor repairs on materials such as laminate, wood components, and basic electrical cords or fixtures.
• Strong memory and ability to recall key details about client products, exhibit components, and inventory locations.
• Openness to learning new processes and techniques, with a flexible and cooperative attitude toward training and change.
• Capability to progress from standard production tasks to more complex custom work as skills and accuracy improve.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WOODBURY, MN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
