PRN Respiratory Therapist

Schedule: PRN - Approximately 20 hours per week
Shifts Available: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift Coverage
Weekend Requirement: Yes (PRN rotation)
Contract Length: Ongoing

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a PRN basis. This position offers flexible scheduling with approximately 20 hours per week and opportunities to work across all shifts. The ideal candidate is experienced in providing both advanced and routine respiratory care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer advanced respiratory therapies, including mechanical ventilation management.
• Perform routine respiratory treatments, including:
• • Aerosol therapy
  • Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB)
  • Sputum induction
  • Postural drainage and chest physiotherapy
• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing, including arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and pulmonary function testing (PFT).
• Accurately document all respiratory treatments, patient responses, and clinical observations in the medical record.
• Respond to emergency situations and actively participate in resuscitation efforts.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, and perform routine maintenance on respiratory therapy equipment.
• Develop and maintain respiratory care protocols.
• Provide education and training to staff on respiratory procedures and equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT/CRT) license (state-specific licensure as required)
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred if required by facility)
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and critical care preferred
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
