If you do not mind hard work and want to make a difference in your community, then please consider joining the FMCC family.Summary:The Quality Control Field Technician (QC) is responsible for daily sampling and testing of materials in the lab and/or the field and ensuring finished goods meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.Duties and Responsibilities:Follow quality control plans or guidelines assignedProcure samples of asphalt for DOT complianceComplete daily paperwork and test logsConduct field production and testing of asphaltPerform daily quality control testing and analysis of asphalt samplesResponsible for safely operating, maintaining, and caring for assigned testing equipmentMay be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekendsPerform any other duty as assignedJob Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredMARTCP Asphalt Field Technician Certification OR VDOT Field Level II CertificationU.S. DOT Radiation HAZMAT Certification1-3 years of laboratory experience (industry experience preferred)Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving recordExperience with various hot mix asphalt and aggregate lab equipment; such as gyratory compactor, sieves and ignition furnaceWell-establish organizational skills with strong attention to detailSolid math and reading skills, with the ability to understand technical manualsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Word/ExcelWorking conditions:May require standing for extended periodsProlonged exposure to the elementsAbility to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materialsLaboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and laboratory equipmentMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a timeThis job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts)Climbing stairs daily to get to workstationMust be able to successfully pass a background and drug screeningWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and fully subscribe to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity.
