Emergency Communications Specialist

Emergency Communications Specialist The Hartford, Vermont Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Emergency Communications Specialist. This position requires working in a fast-paced telecommunication center answering business and 911 emergency calls and dispatching appropriate police, fire, EMS or other emergency response personnel. The successful applicant will become familiar with computer-based dispatching systems. Training will be provided for the successful candidate to become an EMD and NG911 certified. Qualifications Age 18+ at the time of certification U.S. Citizenship or documented authorization to work in the United States High school graduate or GED Applicants for the position of Emergency Communications Specialist must successfully complete the following requirements in connection with certification: National Dispatcher Selection Test Typing skills assessment Panel interview Background, character, and criminal history investigation Drug screening The position involves shift work (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) with occasional required overtime. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated and dedicated individual to join a professional communication staff in a modern dispatching environment.
