About the Role:

The Service Advisor plays a critical role as the primary point of contact between customers and the automotive service department, ensuring a seamless and positive experience throughout the vehicle maintenance and repair process. This position requires managing customer inquiries, accurately diagnosing service needs, and coordinating with technicians to deliver timely and effective solutions. The Service Advisor is responsible for explaining service recommendations clearly and transparently, helping customers make informed decisions about their vehicle care. Additionally, this role involves maintaining detailed records of service transactions and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Ultimately, the Service Advisor contributes to the overall success of the service department by fostering trust, efficiency, and high-quality customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within the automotive or related service industry.
• Basic understanding of automotive systems and maintenance procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and service management software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as an Automotive Service Consultant or equivalent.
• Experience working in a dealership or automotive repair shop environment.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and terminology.
• Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base.
• Demonstrated ability to upsell services and manage customer relationships effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers promptly and courteously, assessing their vehicle service needs and concerns.
• Provide accurate estimates for repairs and maintenance services based on technician input and standard pricing.
• Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow between customers and service technicians to optimize efficiency.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding service progress, additional repairs needed, and completion timelines.
• Maintain detailed and organized records of customer interactions, service orders, and follow-up communications.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and work to resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Promote additional services and maintenance packages that benefit the customer and support business goals.
• Collaborate with parts department and service technicians to ensure availability of necessary components for repairs.
