You may be contacted by phone by recruitment personnel based in either Canada or New York.Work Shift: First Shift (United States of America)Job Description:Welders are responsible for designing, cutting, and permanently joining metal parts together through the application of appropriate welding techniques.ResponsibilitiesProduce weldments to the specified documentation using both prints and job paperwork.Weld various grades of carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminumLayout and fabrication of custom product to drawingsUtilize fabrication tools such oxy-acetylene torches, plasma cutters, magnetic based drills, multi-spindle drilling machines and other equipment as necessaryResponsible for setup, operation, and maintenance of the tools and equipmentSMAW, MCAW, GMAW and spray arc weldingFit all assemblies and subassemblies to ensure accuracy and quality control.Safe operation of overhead cranes and all other shop equipment (electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic).Complete all required documentationAll other duties as assigned by managementQualifications:High School Diploma, Trade School Certificate or equivalent requiredSMAW, MCAW, GMAW and spray arc welding experience requiredMust be certifiable and able to pass the certification test in accordance with the AWS D14.1 specificationsUse and read basic hand tools; including but not limited to grinders, drills, tape measuresHandle materials with forklifts, pallet jacks and overhead cranes as neededAbility to read tape measureAbility to read a blue printMust be able to communicate effectively with factory supervisionWork Environment:ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace RequirementsAble to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Able to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required.Able to climb portable ladderAble to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shift.Able to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levels.Gorbel® is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
