Job Opportunities at Texas State University Nontenure Line Faculty Pool - St. David's School of Nursing Position Title: Nontenure Line Faculty Pool - St. David's School of Nursing Job Posting Number: 2026026NTL Job Location: Round Rock, San Marcos, Other - Remote/Fully Online College/Division: College of Health Professions Department/School: St. David's School of Nursing Position Description: The St. David’s School of Nursing seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester based on student demand, semester by semester. Eligibility for annual reappointment depends on satisfactory evaluations, funding, and program needs. This posting is for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters. Applicants for a pool position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration when a need arises. Required Qualifications Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas. Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility. Hold a master’s degree or doctoral degree, preferably in nursing. Hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an approved or accredited baccalaureate program in nursing and at least twelve (12) graduate semester hours in nursing appropriate to assigned teaching responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Hold a terminal degree, certification in an area of practice specialty, and expertise in a focused area of nursing practice (OB, pediatrics, adult acute care, emergency department, etc.). Letter of interest outlining specific academic and professional experiences relevant for the appointment. Unofficial transcripts (all in one document). Additional Requirements Provide contact information for three academic references in the “Reference Letter” section of the application. Candidates selected for hire must provide official transcripts from all degree‑granting universities.
