Local DriverA Local Driver is responsible for the safe handling and physical movement of our equipment and cargo to and from our customer's dock as well as various freight carriers within their designated city and/or state.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLegally meet or exceed our customers' service expectationsMay be required to load and unload freight as instructed by DispatchProperly use dock equipment without exceeding its design limitations, as requiredMeet all federal, local, and state laws regarding the legal movement of our equipment (including insurance, permits, licenses, and other regulations)Ensure timely and proper documentation and communication of pre/post trips, timecards, manifests, weight tickets, and other associated local paperworkManage shipment documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proof of Delivery (PODs), and security paperwork as applicableReview and report required equipment maintenanceEnsure equipment is always securedTimely communication with internal personnel regarding shipmentsMaintain exemplary professionalism and tact when dealing with internal and external Customers either on the phone or in personWork with manager and co-workers, other stations, and customers to resolve issues in an efficient and timely mannerContinually look to recommend better processesAssist in training new driversAssist Dock in loading/unloading/locating freight when requestedObserve and practice applicable TSA policiesMay be required to be available for on-call support, weekends or extended hours depending on shipment volumesInspect cartons for visible damage, discrepancies, or incorrect/missing labels and immediately report any issues to the Supervisor and Project Manager (PM).Verify shipment quantities, carton counts, labels, and other freight details before loading and unloading.Apply the appropriate color-coded labels for each store at the time of pickupOther duties as assignedQualifications & Skill RequirementsHighschool diploma or equivalent education and experienceMinimum 23 years of ageValid driver's license in good standing1–3 years of previous delivery, transportation, logistics, or freight-handling experience preferredAbility to safely lift, move, and handle freight as required by the positionAbility to read and understand Bills of Lading, shipping documents, delivery instructions, schedules, and route informationAbility to use electronic devices, including tablets and smartphones, to complete required documentation and proof of deliveryPhysically qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle as required by Title 49, CFR, 391.41 and company policyDrivers must follow local, state, and federal laws governed by the FMCSA when transporting goodsWorking knowledge of how to load and safely secure various cargo typesStrong working knowledge of dock equipment and forkliftsAbility to read and understand transportation documents/labelsKey CompetenciesAttention to detailCompliance and safety mindsetHighly motivated team player with an outgoing and positive work attitudeStrong work ethic with a persistence in pursuit of objectivesUnderstanding and responsive to situations that require a sense of urgencyConsistent in follow-up and follow-throughCredible with a high level of personal integrityLoyal and dedicated to the success of colleagues and team membersOptimistic toward all activities, able to transmit this optimism to othersAdaptive to ICAT's core valuesPhysical RequirementsThe noise level in the work environment is moderate to highAbility to lift and move 25 -80 lbs. in a warehouse environmentMust be able to stand, kneel, bend, squat and stoop as neededFrequent phone and radio communicationHourly Rate Range: $24.90 - $29.29Join Our TeamIf you're ready to take the next step in your career with a company that values your dedication and contributions, we encourage you to apply.
