Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist

• Provide respiratory therapy to patients with a focus on critical care and emergencies
• Assist with extubation and intubation procedures
• Manage nasal and oral airway placements and suctioning
• Collect sputum specimens and manage tracheostomy care
• Utilize respiratory equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
• Troubleshoot high-pressure alarms and wean patients from mechanical ventilation

Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist

• Must hold a valid NY state license at the time of application
• Minimum of 2 recent years of RRT experience
• Certifications in BLS and RRT are essential
• Submit resume, 2 references, skills checklist, and applicable licenses/certifications
• No background or license hits will be accepted
