The Assistant General Manager (AGM) provides additional management coverage of operating hours and direct supervision of operations to an individual Taco Bell unit. Like the Restaurant General Manager, they are accountable for the organized, efficient, and profitable operation of their restaurant by achieving and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, accuracy, building maintenance, product quality, and speed of service. The AGM directly performs hands-on operational work on an ongoing basis to train employees, respond to guest service needs, or otherwise role model appropriate skills and behaviors in their restaurant.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Greeting customers with a friendly demeanor and accurately taking their orders.
• Preparing and packaging food and drink products according to restaurant standards.
• Operating cash registers, processing payments, and providing change to guests.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant including back of house (the line), lobby, and restrooms.
• Assisting with food prep and dishwashing as needed.
• Restocking inventory and supplies.
• Managing shifts to ensure fair employee treatment and compliance with workplace laws and regulations.
• Offering ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
• Finding, hiring, and developing Taco Bell employees and guiding new team members during onboarding.
• Assisting with any safety concerns in the workplace.
• Reporting any serious issues to their manager and HR as needed.
• Conducting food safety and prep audits daily.
• Conducting daily inventory, monitoring performance, and sharing responsibility for cash procedures.
• Assisting with schedule creation and deploying the team correctly.
• Monitoring speed of service and resolving bottlenecks to achieve goals.
• Monitoring inventory and food preparation on a daily basis to adhere to company standards.
• Responsible for daily inventory, deliveries, restaurant opening and closing, and daily adjustments to shift staffing and crew deployment.
• Analyzing sales, labor, inventory, and controllable expenses on a continual basis and taking corrective action to meet or achieve margins and sales targets. Maintaining day-to-day responsibility for cash procedures such as bank deposits, making change, opening and closing the safe, and audits. Assisting the RGM to maintain proper timekeeping and payroll procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old or older.
• Strong preference for an internal promote who has completed all required learning zone training and certifications.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Possess a minimum of 6 months in a shift management or supervisory role, preferably in a service-related business.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
• Have open availability and the ability to work flexible hours and all shifts as needed.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly with a can-do attitude.
• Comes to work with good hygiene.
• Has reliable transportation and able to arrive to work on time.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain financial controls and coach and train employees.
• A positive, friendly, and courteous attitude.
