Key Responsibilities of the Certified Nurse Midwife

• Triage all patients and perform uncomplicated vaginal deliveries
• Admit and discharge non-cesarean section patients
• Consult physicians for complicated cases and assist as needed
• Provide antenatal care education and identify high-risk pregnancies
• Offer emotional support and guidance during labor and delivery

Requirements of the Certified Nurse Midwife

• Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
• Oklahoma state license and DEA / OBDNN certification
