About the Position

Job Title: Pediatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Must have a valid license in hand prior to the start date Certifications: BLS required, CPI preferred Must-Have: Previous charge experience Experience with a patient ratio of 3.5 Experience with Cerner charting system Travel experience required Description: This position is for a Pediatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse. The unit will serve patients with medical-surgical diagnoses alongside behavioral health needs. This is a locked unit with two padded isolation rooms. Care will be provided for patients with complex needs, including those presenting with suicidal behavior or substance ingestion. Candidates must be able to float as required. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays. Local residents are not accepted for this position. Pending licenses may be accepted, but a valid state license will be required by the start date. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in managing behavioral health conditions and crisis intervention techniques. Knowledge of medications related to mental health and experience with diverse psychiatric conditions are preferred. Contributions from interdisciplinary teams will be an essential part of patient care on this unit.
