About the Position

Job Title: Pediatric Oncology RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 18 months in acute and chronic care settings with solid oncology experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Status, PALS, BLS Must-Have: Flu vaccination required, no exemptions Description: Administers chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and oncology treatments. Assesses patient conditions and manages side effects. Offers emotional support to patients and their families. Displays appropriate prioritization skills in a fast-paced setting. Works in an inpatient hematology oncology unit with a 16-bed capacity. Maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of 3:1, which may be 4:1 for med/surg patients. Collaborates with a charge RN and a team lead RN who assist without a patient assignment. Nursing care partners provide nursing assistant tasks.
