Medical Assistant

As the Medical Assistant you will perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a provider, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing and coding information for insurance purposes, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, and preparing patients for examination.


Medical Assistant - JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum two (2) years' related work experience preferred. Previous medical office experience preferred.
Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required.
Preferred Education: Certified Nurse Assistant


Medical Assistant - Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand and walk, and bend, stoop and twist up to 8-10 hours during shift(s). Spends 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Acuity to the five senses is required in contact with patients, family members, physicians and coworkers. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 20 lbs.


Medical Assistant - Safety Sensitive Designation:
This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.
