Join us and help shape the future of construction.Position SummaryWe are seeking an Senior EHS professional to lead safety and environmental compliance efforts across our construction projects. This role is responsible for developing and implementing site-specific EHS policies, conducting inspections and audits, delivering safety training, and investigating incidents to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This is a hands-on role ideal for a safety-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and is committed to building a strong culture of safety awareness.Key ResponsibilitiesEHS Program ImplementationSite Inspections and AuditsTraining and EducationIncident Response and ReportingDocumentation and ReportingCollaboration and CommunicationQualifications• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, or related field• 1–3 years of EHS experience; construction industry exposure preferred• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards. OSHA 510 (Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry) a plus• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification• Experience managing subcontractor/trade partner safety compliance, including submittal review and site-specific safety plans• Actively contributes to a positive jobsite safety culture through visible engagement and peer coaching• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with EHS management software (e.g. SALUS, HammerTech) a plus• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Comfortable presenting training material to field personnel• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (~25%)Ideal Candidate Profile• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards• Hands-on experience conducting site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits• Skilled in incident investigation techniques, including root cause analysis• Experience developing and delivering EHS training, toolbox talks, and safety meetings• Strong understanding of environmental compliance (waste management, stormwater pollution prevention)• Detail-oriented with strong documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills• A proactive communicator who can collaborate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven construction environment• A self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple priorities and job sites• Committed to building a strong culture of safety awareness through education and engagement• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certified, with First Aid/CPR certification• Willing and able to travel up to 25% as neededWe're looking for someone who requires minimal training and can step in to immediately run projects with confidence.Why McFarland ConstructionAt McFarland, you are not just managing projects, you are leading them with real ownership, visibility, and impact.
