Fund Accountant

Our client, an investment management firm, is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its finance and operations team. 

Location:
Redwood City, CA. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with in-office expectations 3 days/week. 

Job Description:
This role offers broad exposure across fund accounting, operational finance, audit support, reporting, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and interested in building expertise within a dynamic investment management environment. 

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for investment vehicles and managed accounts.
• Assist with fund accounting activities, including expense allocations, fee calculations, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Perform daily cash, position, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with external fund administrators, auditors, and service providers to support reporting and audit requirements.
• Manage accounts payable activities, vendor payments, expense reporting, and related administrative processes.
• Assist with regulatory filings, compliance initiatives, and maintenance of internal policies and procedures.
• Support investor reporting requests, due diligence inquiries, and other ad hoc financial analyses.
• Participate in special projects involving operational improvements, compliance, reporting, and finance initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–6 years of accounting experience, ideally within investment management, fund administration, financial services, or public accounting.
• Working knowledge of fund accounting, partnership accounting, and net asset value concepts.
• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• CPA progress or certification is a plus but not required.
